OPINION We have just seen a rebound an hour ago following Trump’s pausing of the tariffs for 90 days.  Today is the day that the tariffs were meant to go into effect . This article is conjecture so take this with a grain of salt, but what we are seeing from where I’m standing is corruption on a level we’ve never seen before in the free world.  Keeping in mind that the president is the face of the deep state, here’s how Trump specifically appears to be taking advantage of his position in the current moment: The administration cause market panic and crash the stock with announcements of blanket tariffs for select nations on Liberation Day. Predictably, the market inevitably responds with fear and uncertainty, selling off stocks causing the market to tumble. Trump and his cronies buy the dip. The administration pause the imposed tariffs (ostensibly for 90 days—slight certainty in future investment decisions), on the day they to be enacted causing FOMO and market rebound....

So here we are. America is on the brink of a recession—perhaps even a brand spanking new Great Depression. It’s not like we haven’t been here before . Protectionism has been tried in the past and failed spectacularly, exacerbating economic pain. Maybe you think the last time it was done incorrectly. Perhaps you believe it wasn’t a pure enough attempt. Or maybe you think it was simply due to the circumstances of the time, and that this time is different. Whatever your view, we are all in this boat together. And now is not the time for “I told you so’s”—that can come later, once we’re in the trenches of Normandy. This is the time for solidarity. I asked a mate the other day to define what the terms lefty and right-winger meant to him, and his response astounded me. I won’t repeat what he said here in the interest of being concise and getting to the point, but let’s just say it hurt my brain to process. Sure, there are a subset of delusional morons who will swear black and blue to your face that “oh it’s just a Roman salute, bro”, or “that wasn’t a sieg hiel, just a heartfelt tribute to the crowd”. Is it true that 11-25 million undocumented immigrants are all criminals?  Let's take this question on face value as many of us do; the US has an immigration problem as do most Western countries, both sides can agree to that. The higher (but receding) standard of living means that our countries are sought after by others, and that's a good thing. From a purely selfish point of view, it gives us access to the greatest minds around the globe since they want to be "here" and not "there".
