What Is Propaganda? Am I A Product Of These Forces?
Dinner with family can be a wonderful thing—not just for the company, but for the wildly differing views and spectrum of thought that come together around a table. Hopefully not as unhinged as my own, but nonetheless a useful experience to expose yourself to.
For posterity and context, going forward we’ll define propaganda as:
"Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature (but not necessarily), used to promote a political cause or point of view."
The term woke falls under this umbrella. Soros, Rothschilds, BLM, Antifa, COVID, the banks, transgender issues—these are all words or phrases that strike a conditioned narrative in your mind. This is propaganda. Each one has been cultivated by various media outlets to deliver a political message you can instantly identify with. Whether your reaction is positive or negative, the result is the same.
If you watch too much Sky News, you may be tempted to think woke is bad—a pejorative, selectively and proudly used to other minorities and self-proclaim purity and supremacy above them. If you read too much Twitter, you might see woke as a "mind virus," a common thread pulled by the king of Twits himself. If you watch independent media, you might believe the term woke means nothing—just another psyop by corporate media and state interests to keep the susceptible and gullible distracted by culture wars, while the real issues continue unabated.
Maybe you identify with one, some, or all of those interpretations. The list goes on.
Whatever you believe, you’ve likely been convinced of these stances by a network of propaganda machines working to farm your attention—either rising above them and seeing them for what they are, or falling into their seductive trap.
Of course, we’ve heard this song and dance before. And by now, it’s probably considered woke—under the right conditions—to even be aware of this: that corporations are farming your "free" online experience for their financial gain. Pretty standard stuff. But true, nonetheless.
It’s really difficult to say you have an original thought anymore. What you see and hear is fed to you through complex algorithms that know you better than you know yourself. These systems directly feed on what makes you engage, optimising your attention for ad revenue and platform metrics.
Yes, the person loudly accusing someone of being woke is doing so through this very same sedative tool—social media—and is, ironically, asleep at the wheel, unaware of the forces driving their behaviour.
You have material interests. These are foundational to your conscious experience.
Without a roof over your head or clothes on your back, you are placing yourself in a position that could very well eventuate in an early departure from this world.
Politics is about appealing to this: your material interests.
Sure, there’s strategic voting and culture signaling, but at the end of the day, your vote—under a democratic system—gives you a brief moment to reflect on what issues impact you the most and to try and influence change based on those experiences.
So:
Without your treats, without your modern comforts, what do you actually want your government to do for you?
-
Do you want a stronger nation?
Maybe that means everyone in the country has access to free healthcare. A healthy nation is a strong nation. -
Do you want immigration controls that prioritise citizens?
Maybe that means stricter policies based on national interest.
Whatever the answer, at the ballot box, “wokeness,” “Soros,” “BLM,” etc., should not be (unless you're a halfwit)
what drives your decision about material interests. These are emotionally charged buzzwords that belong in the swamps of the internet—not in the real world, and certainly not under the banner of responsible, beneficial politics.
We are all a product of our biases. You cannot escape them.
But you can control who shapes them.
Be aware. Stay woke.
The deep state is after you. Or is that Elon Musk? Wait—aren’t they the same thing? Oh boy. Palantir? Ugh. Maybe it was BlackRock.
Don’t get the COVID shot, y’all. Eat the other big pharma products instead.
It’s all the same.
